Artomatic Volunteer Meeting
2511 S. Clark Street
Arlington, VA 22202
Volunteer Kick-off Meeting 11am-2pm, January 28, 2012!
ARTOMATIC IS RETURNING TO CRYSTAL CITY May 18-24, 2012 and the call is on to round-up awesome volunteers to make this year’s event a smashing success!
What is Artomatic? Imagine a huge, vacant building. Now imagine the most talented and creative artists, musicians, dancers, actors, writers and performers transforming that space into a “playground for artistic expression.” Live performances, art displayed as far as the eye can see (including the ceilings and the floor), educational programs, film, poetry, fashion and much more! Now, multiply that by 10 and you’ll start to understand Artomatic!
Artomatic is completely volunteer-run. From building the stages, to coordinating with media – everything is handled by volunteers and the call is on to assemble the best team yet to make 2012 unforgettable! Volunteer opportunities include (but aren’t limited to): Volunteer coordination, marketing, site operations and management, fundraising, performers (musicians, dancers, actors, writers/readers, comedians…cabaret, fire/burners, djs), artists and much more!
PLEASE NOTE: THIS VOLUNTEER MEETING IS FOR NON-PERFORMER/ARTIST VOLUNTEERS. If you are interested in being a performer, artist, etc. for Artomatic 2012 please contact them directly so you can stay updated on the meeting for those participants!
Interested in being a non-performing/artist volunteer? Register to attend the volunteer kick-off meeting here: http://artomatic2012volunteerkickoff.eventbrite.com/ Can’t make the meeting? Just e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org and let them know you want to help!

By now, you all know my philosophy – it never hurts to meet a new person! The people you meet at this event might cross your path for romance, friendship or networking. They might be perfect for your best friend or they might provide you with a story unlike any you have yet to tell. No matter what, they’ll teach you something about what you like or don’t like, a new fact or more! So use this Sunday evening to “get up, get out and do something!” You never know who you will meet!
Saturday, January 28, 2012; 5-10am
Start your morning with some tasty, organic, coffee while you wind your way through the many booths along the square, sampling and purchasing some of the freshest, local, produce the area has to offer! It’s not just a shopping experience, it’s a community event. You’ll always find someone friendly willing to chat!

Attending an Authentic Relating Games Night with Jeffrey was one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had to date!
What is Authentic Relating Games Night? It’s inspired by the Game Nights held in San Francisco by AuthenticWorld. Sometimes loud, sometimes intensely quiet, sometimes risky. Always fun and revealing. We are tapping AuthenticWorld for fun and engaging games that we can play ourselves. Have you ever had a conversation with someone where you found yourself hanging on their every word? Your heart is wide open, your eyes filled with tears, and the goofiest smile you’ve ever pulled is on your face?
DC’s Authentic Game Nights are designed to give you that same experience with people you’ve never met before!
I’ll be there this Saturday! Hope to see you there too! (Tickets at the door aren’t guaranteed. As of today, only 7 tickets remain!)

With drinks and food served table side throughout the show, and not a bad seat in the house, you should grab your tickets now!

Calling all men and women! Are you handy? (Electricians, Carpentry, Plumber…you name it, it counts!) Then come out to audition for the next season of All American Handyman on HGTV where you can win a $200,000 prize package, including a deal with HGTV!
Even if you don’t want to audition for the show – if you are like me, and have a huge crush on anyone who happens to be handy, this may just be a great place to grab your morning coffee and people watch.
Hmm, maybe I should have my own casting call for Rita’s Next Top Handyman….
